How to Make an Apartment Feel Like Home

As the #adulting in my life is becoming more and more real, I am starting to gain interest in more areas like vitamins, long-term self-care, and apartment furniture. It may not seem as fun as simple beauty and hair tricks and tips for your 8 a.m. history class, but there is so much out there in the world to discover and learn.

I’ll be graduating next spring and I am beginning to look for home décor and furniture that will make my future apartment feel like home. The more cute treasures I find, the more excited I am to start my future.

Lulu and Georgia is my current, all-time favorite, furniture and decor store. Every time I look online I find something new I want for my living room- and I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing!

My current apartment is furnished with a neutral palette with white chairs, gray bedding and a gray couch- which makes decorating so simple. I love picking an accent color to decorate with and right now I love a subtle peach/pink to brighten up the room. This also adds a slight feminine touch without being too much. I also love a pattern to add to the pink that doesn’t become too much of a theme or distract from the flirty feel the pink brings, so I chose banana leaves. Below are some of my favorite pieces for my apartment and some statement furniture inspiration. Take a peek and let me know how you love to add a personal touch to your home décor and make it feel like home. {All captions link to the product if you want to take a closer look, or buy it for your own #HomeSweetHome.}

Dekla Faux Fur Blush Pillow
Unique and trendy lamp, the perfect addition to a living room side table or on a work desk.
The above “Love to Eat” print would be perfect for a kitchen.
I am OBSESSED with this chair. I would love to put it next to my bed to bring some color and feminine style!
This is like a modern and trendy version of 101 Dalmatians! Depending on your furniture and other accents, this pillow could make a room look very minimalistic with black and white accents or girly and trendy if paired with the leaf pillow below and the pink chair above!
This pattern is so in right now and can be paired with many different accents for many cute, trendy and unique looks!
This accent is the darling white vase in the center of the shelves. I love how unique it is for a vase but also is such a trendy addition to the home decor.
I can’t decide if I love this because of the perfect blush pink shade and darling accent of the tassels…. or because it’s Kate Spade. I do love everything Kate Spade.

I love this as an accent almost as much as I love donuts. This mat is on my wish list for sure!
This is another simple, yet beautiful piece that can really pull together several decorations and accents. This would be great with the pink fur pillow.
Last but not least, this stool is such a girly touch to accent any room. It could even go next to the pink chair!

Accents can be a simple decoration on its own like the banana leaf pillow, but when paired with the petal Bittie chair and the Ricki stool- it brings a whole seating area together with a girly and feminine touch. Accents are what really bring together a room and make it feel like home. Let me know what you think in the comments below and happy decorating!
